Hair Transplantation

WHAT IS GRAFT?: It is a piece of tissue, extracted with special punches in one shot, that is made up of hair follicles with scalp around it. Each graft has more than one hair root (1 root, 2 roots, 3 roots, 4 roots etc.). For this reason, the numbers mentioned in hair transplantation is very important if that it is a graft number or the hair root (hair strand) number.
FOLLICLE: hair root, the source of the hair.
HAIR STRAND: It is the hair that the follicle, hair root grows.

Hair Transplantation Techniques

There are two types of basic hair transplantation techniques, FUT and FUE. The FUE method is the latest technology and most preferred one. The FUT method is an older technique and is not much preferred. However, in some cases the FUT method can be required where the FUE method can not be applied. This is due to the fact that the hair of the patients is not flat but is C-shaped.

Micro Fue (Follicular Unit Extraction)

The removal of grafts one by one from the hair donor area, which is suitable between the two ears, without cutting and suturing. The grafts are removed manually or through a micro-motor with a specially designed, 0.5mm-0.8mm diameter cutting instrument called punches. Due to the very small tip of the punch, a quite high number of grafts can be extracted (3000-6000 grafts / 6000-12000 roots) and the recovery of the drilled holes is completed sooner(4-5 days). There will be no scarring. Micro thinning occurs. It can be hidden after the process by keeping the hair long. The patient will be able to continue his / her normal life in a short time (2 days).

FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation)

This method is one of the oldest methods. A skin strip of 1.5-2 cm wide and 15-20 cm long is extracted from the appropriate donor area between the two ears. The skin strip is divided into smaller pieces and the graft are cultivated for transplantation. Then, as in the FUE method, the channels are opened and then the process is completed by transplanting. The extraction area is closed with strips. The healing period of the tissue (2 weeks) will be longer than the FUE method and will leave a scar. The hair around the receiving area may be lengthened to cover the scar and no trace shall be visible. An average of 3000-5000 hair roots can be obtained according to the size of the extracted skin strip. It will not be suitable for people who use short hair and who might have problems with carrying a scar (police, soldiers, etc.).
In our facilities the operations are performed with the latest technology method Micro Fue.

Other Hair Loss Treatments

Hair Mesotherapy

It consists of a combination of Greek words “mesos” meaning middle and “therapia” meaning treatment and together means the treatment of the middle skin. It was first applied by Dr. Michel Pistor in 1952.Special drugs such as plant extracts, some proteins, vitamins, minerals and trace elements (zinc, copper, selenium, chromium, manganese) that hair requires are injected every 1 cm into 4 mm deep with fine tipped injectors into the scarce or thinned hairy areas. 10-12 sessions should be applied every 10-15 days. Depending on the body structure of the patient, the effectiveness level may vary. All sessions must be done in order to get a good result.

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Treatment

In English, PRP (platelet rich plasma) means plasma rich in platelet or thrombocyte. PRP therapy is the application of a rich platelet-containing plasma through the skin with very fine-tipped injectors used in skin and scalp treatments. Platelets are loaded with restorative material and play an important role in tissue repair. In case of any injuries, platelets rapidly accumulate in the wounded area and allow the stem cells to migrate to the location, leaving the healing factors in place (primarily growth factor). In this way they initiate a rapid recovery process. Thanks to the platelets, the repair process is shortened and the wounded tissue heals quickly and returns to its former position. PRP, being a treatment method full of restorative qualifications we also use it for skin and hair loss treatments , for the same purpose. These plasmas are applied to the scalp area and in this way they initiate a new structuring process in your hair follicles. In this process, your hair becomes stronger than before and becomes more resistant to the risk of shedding. 4 or 5 sessions should be administered with the intervals of 10-15 days. The effects begin to appear after 2nd or 3rd sessions. A single-dose treatment is recommended for every 6-month follow-up period. This treatment will be applied for a period of 18-20 months. PRP therapy, combined with mesotherapy treatment will definitely ensure more effective results in your hair. PRP is effective not only during hair transplantation but also after the hair transplantation. Therefore, it appears that PRP treatment regains the vitality of your hair follicles and allows the recovery phase to be overcome quickly, affecting both during and after hair transplantation.
