Neck Lift / Removal of Jowl

The neck ages in three ways: Accumulation of fat, sagging of skin with vertical bands or both. Neck lift procedure is designed for patients with sagging skin. The scar is left around and behind the ears, sometimes into the hairline at the back.

If the problem is only an excess of fat then laser liposuction is the best solution as it can both remove the fat and tighten the skin. This has very small scars below the chin and under the ears.

Operation Highlights:

• 1 to 2-hour surgery
• Local anesthesia with sedation is adequate if laser liposuction will be performed. Otherwise general anesthesia is preferred
• One day hospital stay
• Stitches are removed on the 5th day
• 4-6 day stay in the country is adequate
• There will be slight edema and some bruises for 3 weeks
• The results will settle in 6 weeks in neck lift and 10 weeks in laser liposuction
