Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty
Nose is the most prominent part of the face. It needs to be proportionate to the rest of the face, particularly the chin. Nose aesthetic surgery is often combined with surgery for septal deviation (the crooked cartilage obstructing the nose) or at times with chin augmentation with implants.
There are two main categories of rhinoplasty: A full rhinoplasty with bone fracturing and tip plasty that is only targeting the lower part of the nose. If the patient wants to decrease the size of the nose with the bridge on top of it, then she/he requires a full rhinoplasty. If she/he complains only from the shape of the tip of the nose, tip plasty may be chosen. Open technique is performed as it allows better control of nose shaping. A very small scar is left in the column between the nostrils.
